AUTHOR VISITS
“Shapes make a Dog, and that’s illustrating.”
Afterschool group, church group or summer camp options are also available.
My author presentations have an energetic and active approach for sharing my love of writing and illustrating with others. My goal is to inspire kids to write their own creative stories.
With my presentation, I’ll share the story behind the story by giving students insights into my four-step writing process and why my process is different than other authors.
Visits are geared to meet the ages of the students and the objectives of the teacher(s).

What teachers are saying…
“You gave a great presentation and the interaction creating a story with the girls— you made it so easy to create it. It’s been three weeks, and the girls are still talking about your presentation and what they learned. Today, they all talked about the things they saw at our outing and coming up with story ideas, just like they did with you!”
Tammy S., SAIL group coordinator for 3-5th grade girls
“You did a fabulous job keeping my kindergarteners interested! Thank you so much for sharing your writing and illustrating experience.” Christina B., kindergarten teacher.
“It was so good!! You kept the attention of my great listeners and even the typical fidgeters. I truly appreciate your time today!” Sharon M., Kindergarten teacher
“LOVED YOUR PRESENTATION! The kids were really able to connect with you and your story. It was also super helpful that you included them in the conversation by asking them questions they could relate to. Just when they were starting to lose focus, you brought out your game!” Mandy F., second grade teacher.
“Thank you for coming in! The kids enjoyed hearing about the professional writing experience. Your talk of a personal narrative tied directly into what the students are learning in class.” Jo A., second grade teacher.
“I loved how you authentically showed your whole writing process. I also loved how you had an attention getter ready for the kids and gave them opportunities to move. The kids really enjoyed it! Thank You!!!” Ashley, second grade teacher
